Ok so just to re-iterate, Brisbane Rive Classic is 9-11th December and the Summer Classic is from the 17th-19th of February 2012. So sometime inbetween mid-december to early feb for the third bream social?

Date: I'm thinking maybe early/mid Janurary? (Saves the hassle of trying to get it in before Christmas)

Location: Redcliffe - Where should we all launch?

Time: I want to be on the water for sunrise which means being there at around 4am - not sure how this works out with everyone though?

Boundary limits: I dont know Redcliffe so any suggestions?

Fish: All photo entries of bream 25 (FORK LENGTH)and over will be accepted. 5 Longest fish for the day submitted will win bragging rights (Will see if i can organise something from a site sponsor)

I am definitely keen for this and even more so from Redcliffe, these are my suggestions/ideas:

- Second weekend of January

- Launch at Queens beach ramp, Griffith rd

- 4am start to 11am (give or take) followed by some sort of weigh in

- Photo, measure and release (if you like stinky old rotten bream, take them for a feed)

- lures only

- Boundaries, Sandgate to Beachmere, this gives you every option in the area :)

And I love the idea about approaching the fisho for a bulk order of fish and chips :) that would be very good.

Seeing as i've never been to that area and everything you've just said makes sense i completely agree!

Show of hands who would be able to make it if it was around the 14th jan (2nd saturday of jan)?

Update: Have spoken to Rob (Zim_Man) and he is donating a prize pack for the winner! (havent worked out details for 2nd/3rd yet but we shall see)

Also, i'd rather lure only but if theres enough interest i wouldnt mind a bait v lure battle?

PS - If anyone has deckie spots just throw it up - Hopefully someone hits you up for that spot Daniel

PPS - If you've never been to a AFO social then be sure to come and put some names to faces!

I'll have to get onto this bulk fish n chip deal too - Thanks Admin

Why lures only:P

Because they are scared the bait will win. I reckon it should be open to both

I don't mind either way but the concept was to simulate a tournament scenario to give people a taste of what they're like. All the official AFO competitions are open to bait or lures, not to mention the wanderers events, other socials and the going fishing tagalong trips. I say let the organiser decide :)

I'll make a decision in the near future but at the moment I'm leaning more towards lure only.

Just curious...in tournaments are gulp, ecogear aqua products and plastics a like considered as 'bait' ?

I'm liking all the decisions so far this looks great would there be a briefing before fishing or just after when the pics are submitted?

If people are able to make it there by 4am I will do a little briefing, just outline the boundaries again and hand out something for each competitor which they must have in the photos they enter for the day

is this still a social? sounds like its heading toward a mini comp. also whats wrong with a good quality boat ramp like scarb lots of lanes, plenty of parking.. the one keen-as-fisho mentioned is poo, if theres an onshore wind forget launching or retreiveing there if your care about your boat :(

Still a social plugger, in the end we're all heading there to have fun but why not a little friendly competition too?

I dont mind where we all launch from, i just need to find a central location so we can meetup there for the briefing before we head off. that sound ok?
