Best to look at places like big w, kmart, night fill jobs, They are pretty good jobs and for your age if its legal, you will get what ever shift you want.

Just a fyi and don't want to offend you mate, but don't go working for bcf or anaconda, the reason why I say this is because me personaly, i don't listen to sales person that looks under a certain age, even tho you probley know so much more then I do and thats not hard, but its the look of inexperiance.

As I said , go retail but not in a client consulting role.

I don't know what the age is but mate if want a job at BCF go for it.

You will learn heaps about retail and in a field you like.

If old blokes don't listen to you so what.

I agree totally, you are young and will learn quickly. The best advice I can give you is to do your best sponge impression  Learn the product, talk to other staff members and customers alike and take everything in. You are already off to a good start by looking at places in a field you are interested in, if I started out that way I would probably still be in retail.

Go BCF just for the 10% staff discount!

very mislead!! 25% it is! only reason i stayed there for 2 and a half years :P

on the age thing, when i started working it was 14 and 9 months, if this is still the case look at bcf about october next year when they start hiring christmas casuals, you will learn a wealth of information as i did

Lachie, unfortunately the Christmas casual positions at BCf have all been filled in around October, but go online and put your name down for a future position, this is what i did 4 years ago when i wanted a change.

I am not going to get into the what stores best and who knows what, i think in our store we have someone to help you wheather you want to catch Marlin of Garfish and everything in between.

Unfortunately on busy days we sometimes can't spend as much time with customers as we would like but if you want help with something try and come in during the week when it is not as busy.

Still remember a couple of years ago going in to a so called specialist fishing store and being told i wouldn't catch fish unless i used braid that was worth $60, was all i could do to stop laughing.

Personally for me i love working there, we have some terrific customers some of whom have become good fishing mates, cheers wayne

Hey @Jayden Morgan

According to this website, it is thirteen. Though I think you will find BCF will only employ you at a later age. You could always apply for a job and hope you get employed. Good luck.

https://www.business.qld.gov.au/running-business/employing/taking-on-staff/employing-children/restrictions#:~:text=Generally the minimum age for,hours of 6am and 6pm.
