A tale of woe, I have.

A day off yesterday had me thinking of some bass after my chores. The thermometer had the temp over 30 degrees when I drove off in the direction of Maroon dam.

The conditions were ideal. I had the dam to myself, and a bit of a storm brewing

the boat was dropped in the water, and fired up. I set off to my first spot and this is what I was greeted by

So I drop the electric in and find my luck has gone down. I grabbed the battery that I didn't charge so the electric was stowed and I paddled over. I tied on a Damiki DC50 and watched a good bass dive out of a weedbed and just grab the back of the lure. More bad luck, this particular lure doesn't have a rear treble :pinch: Next cast I turn the handle and my baitcaster goes crunch and the level wind is broken So out with the 1-3kg combo and get smashed in the bottlebrushes and busted off big time :blush:

Change over to a P21 Bullyboo and baby bloody bass schooling with it on the retrieve :S

I keep changing lures and my scissors end up as an artificial reef near the pontoon :evil:

So 1730 the surface bite kicks off and the fishing is red hot. I was throwing poppers and walk the dogs and if the fish weren't hooking up the first second or third hit they were hitting it at the boat. Landed over 50 of 'em.

that's some pretty poor luck man. One of my pet hates is losing braid scissors and I do it all the time.

Those spanglies are vicous when they're on the bite. They'll have a crack at almost anything.

My braid scissors are attached to my tacklebag with a shoe lace. Have only ever bought 1 pair.
