We'll having been sent away for the last two weeks of the company callendar year to Townsville, what better place is there to pack the lure boxes and reels to have a flick for jacks.

Arriving into townsville airport something didnt feel quite right, Lure boxes, leaders, soft plastics box, two reels.............. dam rod sleeve still sitting next to back door!!! :(

We,ll wether that was done purposely as a dam good excuse for a new purchase :P or if i forgot it by misteak  you guys dont need to know!! :silly: :silly:

Quick trip to the local fishing shop sees a nice new Samaki Zing 8-15 lb comming home, thought id go abit heavier as no point buying a 4th 2-5kg rod!!

So loaded with a nice smile across my face i set out to fish a nice snaggy part of the Ross River, right on last light, a few big surface boofs convinced me to throw out a brand new zippin ziggy in gold, righ into the middle of the snag walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, BANG! strike, nothing. Dam thing went straight through my 20lb rockfish PE. :( not happy to see that lure dissapear.

So decided to change tacktics and started throwing around a gulp prawn, only to have it nailed third cast in!

A short fight on my locked drag saw me land my first ever wild Barra. Quick Snap shot and back he went!

Things went quiet so decided to hit up a different spot near Pallerenda, arrived around 8 ish and literally got carried away by mosquitos! lasted 4 casts and ran back to the car!!

Tonight I loaded up the bushmans spray and braved it back to Pallerenda to my spot.

Started out with a brand new Crackajack, first cast nothing nothing nothing untili was about to lift it out of the water, WHACK, BANG, SNAPPED ON A ROCK!

after throwing multiple hardbodies with not much further sucess i decided to revery to the good old squidgey wriggler 120mm fully endorsed from Mark ( plastic fantastic)

a session is not a session without a baby cod!! :)

first cast in few hops and BANG, jesus did this fish smash the living day lights out of it, soon as i hooked it i knew it was Mrs Jack, boy was she not int he mood to see the surface, after a good 5 minutes with locked drag, a few hairy moments and abit of rock jumping i managed to land her on a nice mud flat.
