Just wanted to share a story. My renewal for my BT (with NRMA) came in at $1330 full comp for agreed value of 29K. Did a bit of shopping and found a quote from allianz for $730 for exact same policy. NRMA have a beat any similar policy by 10%, so I called them up, sent in the quote and now my exact same insurance is only $650, someone is ripping someone off. Just goes to show, it pays to shop around. I can now justify another rod (Tyrnos 20) to the missus :evil:

What was their policy and definition on 'flood' water damaging your car though

I see your point mate, the policy is fine for flooding, only way mine would flood is if I drove it through water. I am going to shop around for my home insurance too.

Yeah nice one, it was more just a jibe at NRMA anyway. I went with aami for about half the price of suncorp a few years back too. Had been getting robbed for years

yup, she is unreal, we got her up to 65 km/hr fully loaded on the way to LMI last week (it was fairly glassy but the prop was getting half out across a few of the tiny lumps

Who was your intial insurer if you dont mind me asking? Thats a hefty amount.

NRMA, and that was with a 10% discount of 350 dollars so original cost was $1680. Price for same policy with same insurer now $650.
