Pumicestone Passage

Being going to the Pumicestone for a fish recently, just up past the bridge. The shovelnose sharks are everywhere. Are these a protected species?

I bought the wife a new rod and real combo bright pink just like she wanted. It was a little embarrassing buying it but I'm over it now.

I seemed to have lost the mojo with my gear as Jac was the catching all the fish. Same jig bait you name it. I went out Sunday without her, same place took both rods. Baited both the same. One hit on my rod throughout the day :( . But on the nice pink rod I caught a Grass Emperor, a few bream, shovelnose, stingrays, one of those eels which knot up. He actually was that twisted up around the line that was the only thing holding him there as the line was busted. Also caught a Longtom, wow these things go crazy jumping out of the water side to side and what a set of teeth. All in all it was a geat day and sorry to say but I think I may have to invest in a nice Pink rod. Atleast no one will steal it :P

Mate is that the femme fatale okuma combo. I had exactly the same experience. I had 4 rods running and the missus's rod was the only one catching fish. Funny bit was she was sea sick, was laying on the deck watching the rod. I was running around like a blue a$% fly, baiting all the time. She would see bites, tell me to bugger off, catch the fish til it hit the surface, hand me the rod then lay back down allowing me to remove the fish and rebait. Very comical to watch but I could not beleive the luck that rod had.

It has also happened the last two trips when she couldn't come out. Nice cheap outfit that did surprising well.
