has anyone been down to palm beach reef in the past few days ?

how did u go ?

hows the bar crossing?

the word on currumbin bar is that the dredging hasn't done much with the bar with guys saying less than 1 meter at high tide. heard of a few guys that went out to palmy over the weekend just gone for not much at all, all went through the seaway.

plenty of spotties up the north coast, just haven't come down yet.

I was stupid enough not to go out there today in the calm conditions ... Hope nobody was getting into them while my boat was high and dry at home :S

I fished the surf gutter for 6 x shovellies - NOTHING else.

Counted about 40 boats out on the reef at 5.30am.

The bar is easy as, up to 3 hrs before and after high. There is a channel deep enough for all the boats that I saw crossing the bar today (up to a Haines with 150hp went through no dramas)

BUT ,,,, the usual chaos of surfers, surfskis, SUP's, swimmers, dragon boats etc etc etc is there from EARLY morning.

I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before another accident happens on Currumbin bar ... heaven forbid!!
