Advertising On TV

This is probably going to get heated so i apologise if i offend anyone of the bat.

I am sure other people will agree with on this

Is there a need to advertise religion on TV. Sitting at home watching the box and the amount of ads that are on there mainly the Mormans ads, is quite astonishing.

I don't question anybodies religion, as long as they don't try to feed it or preach it to me then there's no harm done but i think advertising it on TV is an attempt to bulk preach to a large audience.

Thought it would be interesting to hear what other people thought

I hate all ads. Remote controls are great.

Religion is no different to any other advertiser.

The ones that really get my goat are the WWF etc deceptive lies

and WorldVision promoting people to keep living in uninhabitable areas.

Sponsor a child or animal - Pigs ring ! Sponsor a bureaucracy more like it.

Watch them once to note the deception and then hit the remote next time they're on.

No Dan you haven't offended me, my name is Surfingant, and I'm a Mormon. But Anthony on the other hand can't stand the ads

Now, I'm really gonna try and offend some people (mainly everyone with kids) but I just cannot stand any ad that has a kid doing something stupid in it. Some people say it is cute and go ooh aah, but I can't stand it. The bloody Huggies ad with that little twerp rapping and going on about potty time really gives me the irrits  where the hell are we? The US, why do we need to have that crap on our screens? That's why I spend most of my night on the forum, but the way things are going here...........

that huggies ad with the rapper drives me nutty, the bonds ads can stay, the mormons can go, religion and advertising should not be put together imo.

ellicat, back in zim, there was a lot of world vision food aid being handed out in the rural areas, they do some good, but most of the time, the ruling party (govt) places their party slogan on the food bags and told them that the food came from them, and if they want more food to keep voting for them, happens everywhere in africa.

Good to see a portion of the dollars getting through. A whole other topic Rob, but feeding these people defies the natural limitations on population. The fact there's people dieing due to lack of available food in an area strongly suggests to me the area is not able to support a great number of lives. Ethiopia is a classic example. Forever a famine there and the west gives aid which encourages people to stay and live there. It makes no sense to me.
