tracker/chart plotter for iphone or hand held gps

is there a app on iphone that works like a chart plotter is do what is it as i have a navman trackre with mlb card in it and to get a card for qld its 350 so looking for other opions any one know of anything else i can use and is a hand held one worth getting????

I use the Navionics Australia iPhone app. It's not as good as a proper plotter, but it's all I need to mark good spots and see a track of where I have been. I am pretty sure it is still less than $20, so I think it's worth buying and checking out before you invest in a new GPS. Only real problem is it chews up battery, but it lasts me for a full fishing session, I just make sure I charge the phone in my car on the way to and from a trip.

I second that Navionics is great.. Especially the new one as it has the tides and weather conditions as well.. Also comes with a few marks already on there

wouldnt trust the I phone getting wet I'd go staight for a GPS wich should be near enough waterproof
