Hi all,

Hadn't been out for a while so took my oldest and headed out to Mud mid morning. Chucked some plastics around for about an hour with no takers. We decided to go to the sandhills to see if any surface activity was on offer. Didn't see a thing break the surface, not even a bird flying. Sat at the sandhills for about 10 minutes, didn't look fishy enough so we went back to Mud.

Picked up a nice fish and scored a few smaller ones. Not the best trip but good to get the boat out after three weeks.

haven't seen any tuna either, but at least you came home with a feed. :S

Nice to see your eldest getting onto a decent Snapper there.

I'll have to get back to Mud again soon as it's been nearly 4 weeks since getting out (ramp at Pinkenba is so much closer for us too).

We caught some 27-30cm juveniles last time (all thrown back of course) but the 35cm+ Snapper has still alluded me after years attempting. Flicking plastics around Mud has given us a renewed confidence that it's possible - just gotta find their parents :dry:

We got a few undersize too, have to admit I haven't caught a decent snap there for a while.

And yes it is the sandhills at Moreton.
