queensland signs of life in Laguna BAy

Had a quick troll in Laguna BAy this afternoon and landed a Shark mackerel. Best news is that the bay is loaded with bait, unbelievable amounts, a few scattered birds were working the surface but no Pelagic activity was obvious. Also reports of Small yellow fin turning up. The bay is going to go crazy any day now! :woohoo:

Wow! Have only ever caught sharkies up north. Didn't even know they were around here.

The bar is very good at the moment, best chanel heads out north along the beach but at high tide I went straight through at the Groin,

How did it taste: Sensational with a little ginger, shallots and chilli

Dhess, First sharky I've caught in Laguna Bay, went very hard on 20lb for a little fella.

Mat thats great, its been a while since the last full moon in november, its good to see the bait is there what was the water temp like, tuesday after the rain it was 24 in the bay. it was 26 two weeks prior.. hopefully not long for us!

Full Moon young grasshopper you have come far in your journey, I did say after the full moon, maybe a month or 2 after :blush:

Temp was 24.5 in the bay, I havnt been out side for a while so I dont know how much it dropped.

24.1 in the river, down about 4 degrees from just before the heavy rain hit a week and a half ago. A few more good days of sun like today will heat up the lake and send warm water in between the lakes which should turn the jacks back on up this way.

I'm more so hanging for an opportunity to head out and have a serious crack at some pelagics. Weather was sensational today but too much work. looking forward to 2 weeks off.

funny you should mention the new boat.. I'll be up in the next week and a half, my bro is over from england so Im going to try and line it up with the weather (he wont come out he gets crook) but I'm going to head out, downrigger should arrive on friday too so really keen to give it a run, I'll give you a call when I know and hopefully we can t up a trip out together...
