Hi All,

I'm starting the holidays early by taking Friday off of work. My wife has told me that we can take the new 4x4 out fishing "anywhere within reason."

I'll be land based, and specific species don't matter to me. If you've met me, you know I'm keen just to get out there and lose some line or lures :blush:

So, does anybody have suggestions on places to go that may not be too overfished?

Middle of the Pacific ocean Tweed has been fishing well maybe head up to DI/ Inskip or down to Kingcliffe

We are based in Bracken Ridge (North Brisbane). I think the only limitations on travel is the comfort level of 3 people in a Wrangler and to be close enough that we can be home by Saturday afternoon.

The surf gutters at Bribie or down the coast might be worth a go with worms and pippis. Low tide is usually a good time to chase a few whitting in close to shore.

Check out doss's report on the shorncliffe pier Thats got to be worth a crack!

Double island point!! But with a predicted 3 to 5 meter swell it might be a bit dangerous, last time we were there it was 1 meter glassed out and still a member of the crew had to be rescued by chopper, fishing is epic though

Perhaps hit Angus up for info on Straddie's beaches/rocks (or look up his previous posts). Or even Moreton (not that I've ever gone there - need to rectify that!!!!!).
