Went ot NPD this morning and the ramp claimed another 2 causalities. The ramp at the edge of the waterline and matting is covered with a light brown algae growth and is very slippery.

I went over on it on Monday and ended up on my hands and knees and was unable to get back on my feet and had to crawl up the ramp to dry ground. Graham did an impressive prat fall this morning and it needed 2 of us to get him back on his feet as it was too slippery for him to stand on his own.

I had left my camera at home otherwise I could have paid him back for the nude photos he took of me at Wivenhoe a few years ago.

Luckily I has a spare set of dry clothes in the back of the ute so he could get changed.

WE did ok with the redclaw getting a bucket full out of 8 pots.

We tried for bass and tilapia in a few spots downstream with no results until we tried a old spot where we hovered over the edge of a drop off and got one bass and one tandan.

When we got back to the ramp Rick and Russel arrived fresh from a tilapia cull upstream only for Rick to go head over tails on the ramp.

Cheers

Ray

Edit 24/12/11 the mats were removed today.

your lucky, last time I did that at a boat ramp I fractured my ribs on my left side and was out of action for about 2 months. Tie that stupid mat to your tow bar and rip it out of the way, the exposed crusher dust will then give a good grip regardless of the amount of algae growing on it.
