I've got a book called:

Fishing in Queensland, Your Guide to Coastal and Inland Fishing

It has a picture of a 50 year old or so, holding a big fly caught Queenfish. It has a pinkish fly in its mouth.

Blue cover published by Explore Australia (has the orangy-brown logo in the top right hand corner).

It is a pretty good quide on most types of fishing and quite a few fish species.

127 pages, not including the notes pages at the back

Cant help you with specific books but there are two Queensland based Magazines you could try to get hold of . They have up to date local conditions and location reports I prefer Bush N Beach Fishing mainly because it is a local family owned outfit and is a bit more down to earth and always give our site some free publicity and Angus Gorrie is now writing a regular column in the publication. Their website is www.ausfish.com.au/bushnbeach and email is bnbmedia@bigpond.net.au.

The other mag is Queensland Fishing Monthly is a bit bigger with a lot more advertising and a special section devoted to tropical North Qld costs about $1 dearer than BNB.

Their website is www.fishingmonthly.com.au and editors email is sbooth@fishinfmonthly.com.au. I am certain that if you emailed them they will be able to tell tou if they are available in the UK or if you are really lucky they may send you a complementary back issue.

There are a fair few books that cover the same sort of content. here is some info for the one mentioned above

There is a great book that i got recently called \"Grants Guide to Fishes\" that was written by a bloke that lives in Queensland so it has lots of specific information on heaps of fish. Its reallly informative and its like 900 pages long so it'll keep you going for a while ;) . I recommend it.

Here is the link http://www.grantsguidetofishes.com/

I don't think you can buy them for book shops but if you have a look on the website he tells you how to get one. I brought one off him about 6 months and its been great

And he signs every copy!

What you have there is the fish bible.

Mines a 1978 edition:huh:

Great book. Imagine it would cost $10000000 to send to the UK though
