hey everyone,

Was just wondering if anyone knows how to or knows someone that can strengthen up my tinny's transom?

My Max HP is a 15hp if that helps? i recks it could take a 20 as a 15 feels like it takes it easy.

Keen to chuck a 30 on it if possible :)

Thanks :)

I think you would have to still support the transom where the bracket attached. you would need to talk to a boat builder is my advice man.

I had a 4.35m tinny with a 40hp yammy on the back and it got scary at full noise, I could only open it right up if it was glassy.

Im almost certain hp ratings on boats are not due the transom being 'under strength'.I mean it is a factor but only usually when being silly. I.e- putting a 100hp on a 3.5m tinny. It's actually a weight thing that the engineers that design boats decide what is safe.

Yeah mate you would have to go through a boat builder to get them to do it, so that your boat could be plated heavier so when you kill somebody driving a 3.7 like a muppet with a 40 on the back, you don't send yourself bankrupt with law suits....
