regulations on live shellfish

coming in from a yak session at wello point yesterday i noticed a family with there white buckets collecting every live shellfish they could get there hands on and it didn't seem wright.

is ther a law againts this and if there isn't there should be.

and should someone be notifided if i see this again.

I know taking them has a bigger eco impact than regular fishing they provide food/life for so many species

but i dont know about the law...

ring the fisheries with the details, pretty sure it's illegal to gather molluscs in moreton bay

There are plans to stop all shellfish gathering in QLD after Sandstone point was stripped last year. Fisheries are saying that they can not police the 50 per person limit as the organised pilferers are so organised and know how to get around the rules. 

I love a feed of Quampies and I like to use Pipis for bait. I don't know how I feel about a total ban. I want to protect them. I wonder if the limit was brought down to 15?
