Crab Pots

Any creek or river on cape york or in the gulf of carpentaria! Crabs garaunteed! :P

But serious now, when I used to chase crabs a lot I always had success by finding out of the way and hard to get to places- google earth is great for finding these. If I had to hike through the bush for ages and get covered in mud and hammered by sand flies to get the pots in, I always got heaps of crabs.

I could suggest around yeronga reach of the Brisbane river, lots of mangroves and I don't think it gets hit very hard by crabbers.

A bit off the topic, but would anyone eat crabs from the Yeronga reach? Especially when you consider what went into the river from Oxley Creek and other runoff during the flood, I think I would be really cautious about eating anything from further up than the Gateway. Not too keen on glowing in the dark, but maybe that is just me? The occasional one might not hurt though, or maybe we are talking catch & release
