How many members use the ramp at pelican park? I have herd some horror stories about how bad it is to get to at low tide however was there last sunday with the family at the park around low tide and some pretty decent sized boats seemed to have no trouble getting in.

Gday sammysnapper,

I have been using Pelican Park ramp for the last few weekends and have had no trouble getting in or out with my 4.2m tinnie. It was low tide last weekend when I came in and I found there was some soft mud either side of the ramp but only ankle deep. My sounder showed 0.5m depth around 10m or so out from the ramp at the peak (or lull) of low tide. I haven't seen any other boats having issues using the ramp either... although they have been other tinnies and half cabin boats.

Hope this helps.

I use it regularly with my 5.1m Allycraft without any problems. It is shallower than say Scarborough, but not enough to cause any dramas. Good pontoon to tie up to and well lit at night as well.

Cheers guys, that helps alot. The wife is 7 months pregnant and finding it hard to climb into the boat at dohles rocks so this sounds like the easy option with the pontoon.

thanks again guys

I am pretty sure they just dredged it out not that long ago. The guys at work use it regulary and have had to drop of some one to get the car and drive it around to dholes rocks as boats were high and dry in there but that was before i belive it was derdged out
