blackfish floats

Recommended Posts

so am pre keen to give the luderick a go this season as i have never done so before and sitting at home today decided to see how i went at making some blackfish floats. assembled some gear from around the house. had some corks that mum had grabbed me from work found some old chopsticks and some other bits and peices and headed out to the shed.

first step is to shape the cork down to the desired shape and size i used a sharp knife but you can use a lathe if you have one or sand one down. once you have done this then drill a hole through the cork and thread onto the chopstick

the next step is to boar out a hole at the bottom of the chopstick and then mould a piece of lead or find a little bit lying around like i did and get it to fit in the boar.the next step is to heat up your hot glue stick and glue the lead in making sure you glue it in securely.

then use a very small drill bit and drill 2 holes in the top,use a piece of small wire and mould a loop and then crimp the wire on the other side like so. do this for both the top and bottom and then glue into place.

once they are glued i tested the float in my pool and adjusted the cork up and down to get it to sit right in the water.

then glue the cork in posistion.
