I dare say Khoi (if hes free) and I will be out there doing the same B) Might not launch at viccy point but, last Saturday was a pain in the rear end so maybe launch at Cleveland beside the ferries, then head to Macleay then to Dunwich then some flats to finish the day I reckon B)

Khoi said he's studying but you have his boat ;) maybe meet you at the ramp and get a small convoy going?

Could be keen for Saturday, might take a guy from work out 5am - the decision is stick to Bribie/Moreton or maybe launch at Port of Brisbane and over to Stradie...

I've done a bit of rough water stuff in NZ- how hard is the bar out Boat Rock that I see you all venturing to? I will be taking a 19ft glass cuddy that can clip 40mph if it has to, or maybe if others are going I would happily follow an experienced floatilla?

Whatever happens I am going to be bending a rod somewhere as long as the weather holds!!

Your boat should handle it fine. The bar can get pretty nasty though so I wouldnt recommend trying to cross on your own. Either take a deckie who has experience with the crossing or follow out another boat. I've been out there in a 16' plate ally and I wasnt the smallest boat out there but treat the bar with respect.

So what time and first stop fishing where?

I am more interested in launching and tagging along for observation at this stage instead of getting in your road

Hey Dave

Will decide later in the week, probably around 5am for Cleveland - will post finer details later - anyone's welcome

The bar should be real easy on the weekend with southerly swell. The bar is protected from Sth swell

5am? (shudder)

I doubt I will have any joy getting my lovely woman (or me) away from the warm blankie at that ungodly time of day ;)

Ok the boat is booked, now the speculation of the wife getting up at 4am in the cold or relying on my work mate getting to the ramp by 4.45... hmmm??

Thinking I may launch down at Pinkenba and head straight over- anyone else looking to take on the bar around 6am? Would be appreciative of local experience to follwo someone through.

Its a long run from pinkenba to south passage mate. Id be leaving either cleveland or wello.

Or Are you talking about crossing brisbane river mouth at 6am??

Was thinking Pinkenba to South Passage because I live at Narangba, mate lives at Hawthorn and was trying to keep it below 50kms road run...

Had a couple of cordials with him last night, he is keen to come north so will head out from Spinnaker to north Moreton around 5.30am, if it's looking flat probably hang around shallow tempest.
