Went down with Bennno to Trinity Inlet tonight for a few hours. The place was well lit up and we had some live prawns so knew we were going to get something. Started off in the shed area but after 10 minutes with no runs and not even a tarpon on the gulp shrimp I was flicking around, moved up to barra corner. Saw plenty of barra cruising under the lights so dropped down my livie and chucked out the gulp shrimp on 8lb fireline. The gulp got smashed straight away dead sticking it just under the surface, and with a bit of fancy footwork managed to land a 75cm model.

Then chucked the gulp in the same spot, even though I was a bit scared on the light line as there were some big beasts getting around. It got smashed straight away by a fish which was easy 120+cm which then stripped about 60m of line off me before busting me on the pylons. Went to rerig only to discover I'd left my jigheads at home. D'oh!

Back to live prawns, we got 5 nuiscance tarpon, a jack, another barra, and a cute little black jew.

Never a dull moment at 'barra corner'. You blokes are spoilt
