State Of Origin GAME 2

1 ref used to do and he relied on his touchies as confirmation . now they don't seem to care what the touchies see and decide themselves .

Also in most games the refs cop a gobful from players , Not the captain of whatever side has the penalty against them and all the do is " Go away , Go away " over and over . What happened to mouthing off at the ref seen you walked 10 mts or sit for 5 on the sideline ??

Refs were the reason i lost intrest in NRL a few years ago from the bad calls and general players running the game not the refs

Let us choose the refs for the next game --- oh wait --- qld aren't that petty. I doubt Mal will say anything - we don't have to stoop to that level to win 6 series in a row - let alone 1 game. Well done ricky...

Not a bad game - if we could of held the ball it wouldda been different story. I actually made 50$ tonight, soon as I heard ricky picked the refs - i placed a bet :)

Can't wait for the next one - man it's gonna hurt the blues sooooo much more.

3 weeks and we be singin about 7 in a row

!!!!QUEENSLANDER!!!!!

Cheers

NSWs` played well for the win, their defence on the right side was tightened up for this game.Their offence and kicking game was a big improvement on the first game.

Game 3 will tell us if they can improve on this performance.

For Qld it just didn`t come together, 10 incomplete sets, large amount of territory given away by penalties.

To save maybe 6 points the professional foul cost 12 points.

Hindering injuries to 3 players and the inter-change bench down to 3 for the second half didn`t help..

Do not know if Thurston was playing injured or ill, but his running options at times was puzzling.

One thing for sure Qld can improve on that performance for Game 3

that was a great game and well done to NSW for winning, the reffing was a bit dodgy but the only really bad call was when taylor missed the ball, should have been a drop kick restart because the nsw defender grounded the ball in goal. Haynes try was a try, as the knock on rule states (If, after knocking-on accidentally, the player knocking-on regains or kicks the ball before it touches the ground, a goal-post, a cross-bar or an opponent, then play shall be allowed to proceed. Otherwise play shall stop and a scrum be formed) Qld looked good last quarter of the game and NSW were very lucky jennings knocked that ball out of their hand. I think both teams defended very well. NSW just won after a less than impressive performance by QLD, sets up a great third game, where I think QLD will prevail.

Easy to see where temperamental prima donna head of refs billy harrigans loyalty lies. Firstgame he came out to back his refs over the inglis try then after pressure sacked them. Now in game 2 he says he would of awarded a penalty try, while his refs all say the right decision was given. He is living up to his prima donna title alright.

and we should have got a 20m restart when that grub jennings knocked the ball out of tates hand.

T WAS the refereeing blunder which robbed Queensland of one more opportunity to claim another State of Origin miracle.

Referees boss Bill Harrigan yesterday admitted that a crucial decision by whistleblowers Tony Archer and Ben Cummins in the 71st minute to give the Blues a 20m re-start had been the wrong call and denied Queensland a repeat set attacking the under-siege NSW defensive line.

Blues centre Michael Jennings swatted the ball out of Brent Tate's hands as he was about to score a match-sealing try for Queensland, but the referees ruled it to have been a fumble and overlooked the fact NSW had knocked the ball out of play.

healso missed a knock on and a forward pass in a cruical game in 2001 and then sent Tallis off for rightly calling him a cheat, so we won't take too much notice of what this turd says.

after Game 1 everything blue wanted to sack Harrigan, after Game 2 he gives an opinion, now everything blue wants to quote him as The Messiah

What Harrigan actually said:

Referees boss Bill Harrigan has admitted he would have awarded New South Wales the first State of Origin penalty try in 30 years at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday night.

"Steve Clark said the presence of Billy Slater swayed his opinion and left him with some doubt," Harrigan said. "It's a subjective decision and it's one of those moments when opinions can vary.

"We've asked around the referees and some said it was a penalty try and some agreed with the decision. I would have awarded a penalty try. That's not to say Steve Clarke was wrong. It's a matter of opinion."

Anything been said in the media about them filthy blues rubbing heads of opposition into the ground - it's not needed - surely something has to be done about it ... oh wait - ricky picked the refs. Only way they can win is to cry and change whatever they can or threaten to get people sacked.

Gonna be a different story in 3 weeks - even without slater. Gonna be maaaaaaaaaaaaaad - hope the refs are fair next game tho.

Cheers

It was a great game.

NSW definitely came to fight, but so did QLD and that was obvious 1 minute and 35 seconds into the game when it turned into a cage fight

I was a bit worried about QLD's chances for a bit.

fairly sure some of them would have celebrated a second time
