This wasn't caught by me but someone I know down the Tweed. Had to share!!!

The big girl was released too!!!

Correct me if im wrong but isnt it illegal to keep them over 70cm? good on him for releasing her, what a thrill to land one that size and one to remember for a long time to come!

nice fish......holding like that wouldnt do its jaw much good with out support from underneath and unfortunately tugger you cant release into an esky at that size.....75cm is the limit and besides it would be a she,so good breeding stock...... be remembered for a long time to come

The Mid North Coast and North Coast of NSW has a terrific population of very large Dusky Flathead.

By far the best river system for large Duskies is the Macleay River and over the summer months you can often catch a number of very large fish in a days fishing if you know where and how to catch them.

The average size of the bigger duskies is around 4-6kg and there's plenty in there far bigger than that.
