Well as Feral said , Whats the go with a BBQ?? are we going to have one before or during the fish.

Boats can be beached on the sand or pulled up to the bank.

BBQ there are wood fired so would have to bring wood.

No lighting at night so would have to be before dark. Although I have a genne if someone has a couple of fluros.

Glenda & I will be there about 3. after work.

I reckon afternoon BBQ, about 4 to 4:30. back on the water an hour before dark to get livies and settled in. (6:30 sunset now?) I can bring plenty of wood (got about 4 tonnes in back yard Ray cut up 5 years ago, and never came and got!)

Alex and I will be meeting Ray there. Have to check with him on time, we might fish a bit first, depending on what time he wants to launch (Cant leave here until lunchtime missus has something on).

I can bring the usual snags and bread.

I plan to get there at 4 and I'll bring along some stuff for the bbq,

Then I'll be flicking monster plastics until ellicat shows up a bit later.

I can;t make it becasue I'm going to Caloundra for the weekend, but I'm looking forward to hearing the reports because I'm hopefully heading down there next weekend to try for a bully and threadie

Guys, I will be there at 4pm, but wont be fishing as they whole idea of spikey pikey eels does not appeal to me.

I went and got a couple of mullet and some pillies just in-case today. I think the mullet might be a little big. They are about 35cm or just over a foot, is that to big?, should I fillet them or use them whole?

You can always cut part of the tail off and use it for bait on a smaller rod if you want.

no such thing as to big for shark bait ive used mullet over 2ft long and done very well on little bullies around 4 ft

out here the rule is the bigger the bait the more hooks you put in it that way when they bite it in half or bite chunks out of it they got a better chance of finding a point

I wouldn't fillet those big mullet, just chop them in half. Use the head end for one bait & the tail for another (did I explain that correctly)?

Your pillies will probably last about two minutes before the catties, mud crabs or pike eels demolish them.

just been to every fish sweller in ippy trying to buy a few mullet fillets,bloody rockinghorse turds would be easier to find.

the super IGA at redbank plaza has fresh arrow squid for $6 per kilo

and woolworths at booval has fresh green qld banana prawns for $12 if any one wants to stock up on some good bait

I got a couple of mullet this morning from the \"Allrounder\" up in Caboolture,$3.50 a kilo. If I'd known I would have got a couple more for ya Jeff!

Mind you they are about 40cm, have to take Schulzy's advice and chop them in half I think!

Jeff. The seafood shop at Kruger shoping center has mullet fillets and smallish whole mullet in his freezer.$5kg whole & $6 kg fillets.

I dont think you'll need Burley, I've never used it there. I think there will be too much run anyhow, also there is still a fair bit of rubbish on the top.

I caught a loomis. Only thing i lost it 3 hours previously. Dunno why but O was in a crappy mood for 3 hours. And after me saying you should always tether a rod if you are going to leave it in a rod holder.

Well after some quick discussion Ellicat and myself decided our target species for the night would be catfish,

Yep we cleaned up boating around 4 each,

nothing better than landing what you set out for and I got a dirty giant pike eel.
