Fishing the inner Sunshine reefs in small boat

I've recently got my first boat and have spent the past few weeks learning how to handle it - obviously I'm still a novice, but am becoming more comfortable.

At some point I want to try the closer reefs of Sunshine Coast, Murphy's near Moolooaba, and those near Noosa.

If I stick to "good weather" days, would you be comfortable heading out to those reefs in the following:

- 4.3m Nova Galaxie, fibreglass, with 85hp 2-stroke. Both old but in good condition (outboard still hitting 65kph on the river).

Or maybe this outfit's simply too small for even close offshore trips?

Many thanks

A 12' tinny with a 15hp is a good boat for the inshore reefs off the Sunny Coast if you have flares and all the safety gear. Get an Epirb and it opens up waters more than 2Nm offshore. I certainly fish in amongst all the tinny brigade a lot of the time off Coolum, Currimundi and Caloundra.
