My Gulps have gone Rancid

Hey Folks,

So I have had a large number of gulp sp's in a tupperware container and the bloody things have gone rank on me. All slimly. Is there anyway I can rejuvenate them is what I ask ?? I have cleaned em up and washed them in fresh but they still smell.

Feels like a waste to chuck em out and I aint made of money.

I feel this is the only down fall with gulp.

Other brands of sp like squidgy and atomic and Zman seem to keep heaps better.

I'd suggest going a buying one of the quart sized jugs of gulps. They always have more than enough juice in them, then put the rancid ones in there and make sure they are covered. Should bring them right back.

I think you have used a sp then put it back in the packet,this turns them pretty quick, and i don't think they will recover, save what you can and cut your losses.As Gary said the gulp alive tubs, but there 20 - 30 bucks.If you know they smell rank do you waste valueable fishing time with them, with the doubt.

In future, just keep them all in their packets, I have never had any problems apart from them drying out after a year or so with my less used colours. I have stopped buying gulps since I realised Damiki don't dry out

I bought a tub when they were on special and then put the whole lot into a Tupperware with odds and sods left over from packets. They lasted for about 6 months but then went so rank that it even made Shorties esky smell like roses.

Lesson learnt, only open 2 or 3 packs at a time and plan on using them within a couple of months and leave them in their originaly packaging.

Have they been exposed to the sun ? mine went all soft and buggered after leaving them on the deck of my boat for a day, chucked the whole lot and bought some new packets and gulp juice and all good, also get a good container like the Plano series it doesn't leak even after 18months

It may be worth putting them in the freezer for a week to kill the bacteria,etc. and then giving them another wash.
