Marlin fishing landbased

Just wondering if anyone has caught a marlin land based before?

Hey Pete - Have heard a tall tale of it happening in nz - can't confirm it.

I remember seeing a wicked video of a sailfish landbased on afo a few years back .....

Yeah I've been googling it. Nothing about it in qld but I just got back from 1770 today and was fishing the catwalk up there and this guy was slugging for tuna and caught a small black marlin. I couldn't believe it. Apparently second ever caught around there. Just wondering if anyone else had heard anything in qld.

I bought a dvd about the landbased marlin in SA or WA, I cannot remember. Certainly possible

I've caught a number of juvenile blacks off the stones as well as yellowfin,longtails,cobia,mackeral ect.

The 3 main landbased game fishing platforms are at Hat Head which is where I always fished,Jervis Bay and Greencape.

blacks can be found closer to the coast so its possible.

dont think you'd get a stripy land based though

We used to fish Hat Head and The Tubes at Jervis Bay regularly when i was younger.

There are some great memories down there.

i have seen a vid of small blacks caught off fraser in the shallows on fly gear,around the 1.5-2.0 meter mark.brad
