River Fluorescence!

I was just down at the river and saw for the first time ever heaps and heaps of those little glowing fluorescent microbe dots that you see in the waves at night sometimes! :woohoo: I have only ever seen it once before at Moreton a few years ago and I was stoked just before to see it in the river! I had to do a double take to see if it was my eyes playing tricks.

As I said it's the first time I have ever seen it in the river! And I've spent a fair bit of time down there at night.

Anyone know why it's happening? Something to do with the rain I suppose? Or beacuse it was seriously choppy on the water with all this wind etc.?

Bit of a nerdy topic but hey

when they were building the final stages of the lakes and cannels around miami and bond university they land locked one of the lakes for years and the bioluminescent plankton bred up in there so much that you could jump in the water and get out fully glowing. it was very popular with people who'd been eating the old disco biscuits
