Battery Box Suggestions

Hi All

I have managed to get hold of 4 x 6v 12AH batteries from an old UPS (new batteries though) and want have hooked them up into a bank producing 12v output to use as house batteries for the Sounder, VHF, LEDs etc.

The bank when put together measures 220 x 150 x 100mms. They are sealed lead acid batteries.

Now what to house then in. I want something a little more low profile that the standard battery boxes so I can slide them out of the way under a seat

Anyone come across something suitable?

Take your measurements to Big W. Those plastice Klipit lunch / food storage boxes come in multitude of sizes. Popular among kayak fishos.

Ikea has all sorts of plastic boxes.

My only worry is will they be strong enough ?

Just make a neat fitting box out of ply and paint it well.

...or buy a battery box and cut it down with some kitchen sheers or other suitable device.
