sold Wanted: Bamboo

Hey everyone,

This may sound like a weird request but there is method in the madness.

At vacation care this year we are having a "Native American" themed day. The kids are essentially forming tribes and competing against each other in various activities from craft to lacrosse and counting coup.

In short we want each "tribe" to set up their own plains indian style tee pee on the oval which will be their home base for teh duration of the day.

Standard poles from bunnings etc are an absolute rip off and will deprive us of other resources so I wanted to throw it there...

Does anyone have a bamboo stand they would not mind seeing a few stalks leave from. I am chasing maybe 12? Around 10 foot would be ideal.

What sort of thickness? I've got some in the backyard that I hate and I'm sure the real estate would not notice if some went missing :whistle:

Hmmm, do not know exact thickness.

About 10cm is diameter I think would do it though...

Yeah well they should be about the same anyway if the lengths are similar. When do you need it by? I'll have a look at how many long lengths are down there and if there looks like there'll be plenty you could just come around and pick and choose what you want if that suits.

If you guys can't smuggle enough out of the backyard let me know - there is a property on the main road out of Redland Bay where the Bamboo is sooooo thick and really really tall. If you get stuck I will go and knock on their door and ask for you,
