Fingermark or Moses Perch

Hey guys,

My brother has been catching a few of these in the Gold Coast canals.

Just curious on whether that are Fingermark or Moses Perch?

Some have been darker than this one, while others are nearly fully silver.

Here in Qld they are called Moses Perch.

Elsewhere they are called Fingermark Bream or Moses Perch.

Fairly easy to tell the difference, the moses (the one in this picture) has a clear black dot and a lighter belly. The fingermarks from up north look much more like a Jack, but have a lighter dot in the same area, and much nastier teeth.

They are from the same family of fish The "Lutjanus" which also have mangrove jack you definately got a moses perch all are top table fish and i would not hesitate to throw them in the ice box
