queensland bremer river bass

so after calling my trip to the pin off because of the wind. late this afternoon i decided to walk the bank of a skiny section of the bremer. i did 1 pass with no hook up. then on the second pass i had a 3 foot brown snake follow the samy back to the bank. i quickly move down river. then i was on 2 nice bass in 5 casts.

I live out in Ipswich and have often thought about exploring down the Bremer, however I have heard reports of big big big brown snakes going people so I have stayed away.

Well done with the bass, what area were you at?

i was at the back of one mile. as long as you have a phone and know how to treat a snake bite i wouldnt worry about them. just keep an eye out for them.

yeah sure. but i am new to this fresh water thing. there could be loads of casts for no fish.

Well done dirtridder just a word of caution for you though, watch it when holding them close to their gill plates like that, they are razor sharp and will slice your hand in an instant if they start squirming :S
