Headed out this morning to a likely looking spot that looked like it had some great holes. The creek was nice and deep but not too wide so it looked perfect for some little bass. I decided to give one of Tomca's lures a go that he very kindly gave me and first cast and 2 winds in a bass came up and smashed my lure just cm's from the top of the water :woohoo:

After that it was basically a fish a pool. For some reason once one bass was caught in one spot it was like every bass from that hole knew that it was a trap

This one practically hit the lure at my feet!!!!!! For a second I thought it was going to win and I might be in the water with it!!

After all the walking we realised that we could catch them metres from the car :pinch:

It was an awesome little session in the middle of the day, and ended up with quite a few hefty creek bass. They were pretty fussy really only going for the one lure and only the one colour.

Native fish shutting down after one is caught from a small water hole is pretty much normal behaviour. As the area gets more fishing pressure you will also find they become very fussy, usually a "new" or "different" lure than they have been seeing will be required to get some interest.

Thats why people will think their new $30 Japanese lure is so great, its not really, its just the fish have not seen one before. Probably get just as good a result with a 30 year old lure no one has used for years.
