Beau 60 plus members have come to wanderers socials it makes it hard to let everybody know since the latest problems if you have one place to post a event plus there is planning and discussion

Actually if a safe, user-friendly way of doing this can't be achieved on AFO then doing things via email might be the way to go. Would mean getting everyones emails - which they could PM - but once a group email had been established it would be as easy as 'Replying All'. But I'm certainly no technology-savvy dude so there may be a better solution.

'll have a play around Mark and ask my son tomorrow he works on these thingswill need to get eveyones email addresses to do it though so I'll get back to you when I've had a go.

I'm using Outlook express and its pretty basic to set up a Distribution list, just need email addresses and name then add them on the list and when you send the message all persons on the list receive it. Have a look at yours and see if its got a Distribution List Menu on your contacts menu and let me know

looking around the site mark and the group can be set to members only and not public where all others can read and see messages if the members onli ticked this should prevent that happening, could one of the admin confirm this if this is the case, may have to set the group up again

Hey Mark good on you for trying to still get new members from afo to come to to socials.

I personally wouldnt bother posting any details about the socials here. Its not worth it anymore. After all thats being going on lately you CANT TRUST anyone.

Get one of the wanderer boys to start up a invite only forum and once you know who is who invite them in and give them details to the socials, deckie spots etc.

Therel be nore than enough member on it in no time.

Thats what Angus suggest make your self like a boys club.

To me afos dead now mate. They dont want anything to do with offshore fishing.

Its all about bream and bass fishing now.

Mind if I ask who 'they' is Shane? I haven't been online much lately due to the weather and busy with work, so not sure what is going on with this?

Come on Shane ease up on the salt vs. fresh dribble. Pretty sure most people don't mind seeing any fishing report posted regardless of species, technique or location.

It's good to see reports from GT popping, offshore pelagics to skinny water Bass and monster Murray Cod, plus everything else in between. Just because one person has a particular preference doesn't mean everyone else needs to agree.

Cheers and beers

well said eug i'm happy to read any report about any style of fishing

we all cant afford big boats and massive fuel bills to go offshore or have the desire to run for hours getting pounded to get there and back

Such a random call... And completely unfounded.

The site loves offshore reports. However, lately the weather has been a bit average and I know some people have had trouble getting out. Add to that mix that fact that as a % less people can/want to go offshore, and then consider that yes, some people do like other types of fishing and the offshore ratio is not to bad all. Yes I would like to see more myself, but not having the expertise or equipment my trips are few a far between.

Information and action begets more information action on this site. The more people that contribute the more will follow suit.

This is pretty off topic though so leave the thread from now to tuggers original intention please. If you want to discuss offshore fishing... Create a thread.

Angus
