Any good fishing spots around Bribie Island

Hi Does anyone know any good spots for fishing in the Bribie passage we are staying there over Easter and will be taking the tinnie 4.3 Fishabout that I recently bought and converted to a centre console, so we planning some sea trails and a fishing trips to plunder the local fishing stocks, but more likely feed the local fish.

Not sure about good spots to head in the boat but if you use the Search engine and search for posts by Mullet Musketeer he has put plenty of repots up over the last couple of years where he has caught PLENTY of good sized flathead flicking soft plastics while walking the banks - think they were all within cooee of the bridge. Might give an idea of where, when, how, etc and you could then work out if you do it landbased or with the boat.

Take a look (use the Search engine) at the posts by Mullet Musketeer over the last couple of years. He has caught PLENTY of good flathead hauls walking the banks flicking soft plastics - from memory they were all within sight of the bridge too. Will give you an idea of how, when and where and then you can work out whether you use the boat for them or off the bank. Hope it helps.

Drop in and see Nigel at Ningi bait and tackle, he will steer you right for spots and bait. There are a few drop offs and coffee rock reefs worth fishing in the passage.

Best ramp if staying on Bribie is Spinnaker Sound, on the Main land just east of the bridge.

ANY GOOD LANDBASE FISHING SPOTS IN BRIBE ISLAND PREF OPEN BEACH SIDE

Plenty of good whiting spots on the main beach. Pick a Low tide in the shallow gutters.

High tide deep gutters can bring taylor and jewfish. Spend a fair bit of time up there and you will sort it out for sure.

It is a beautiful part of the world even if you don't catch a fish 🙂

I used to 4wd up Bribie Beach side quite regularly to fish.

Beach side further north fishes better then south (due to bigger waves/swell)

Basically Bribie oceanside fishes better when there is a bit of swell that will whip up the sand.

If there are pipies around low tide showing up from all the 4wds, this is a gun bait and location to try for Dart, Whiting, Bream, Tarwhine. (but mainly Dart)

As the surf / swell is usually not that big, there are not really any well formed gutters.

Dawn and dusk coinciding with Low or High was ideal time to fish.

I didn't have much luck fishing there in the middle of the day - so we usually reserved this time to sit around / eat / drink.
