Nice little Broadwater session. Vids added.

G'day fellas. After weeks of not being able to get out in a boat my luck changed today.

I've got the bro inlaw and sister inlaw up for a few days and he happens to know a bloke that works at Bluefin.

So we headed out in schmick custom boat for a session in the broadwater. We got out a little late around 8am and were greeted with flat waters, no wind and not to much boat/jet ski traffic.

We set up a few drifts past currigee, got a few hits and then I hooked up to the first fish of the morning. A 47cm flatty taken on a 3" Flash J. Daniel (Bro Inlaw) was next off the mark boating a slimy little pike. Liam then picked up a small flatty, we had a few drifts past there with plenty of hits and misses and a couple of small fish boated.

After this we moved over to Crab island and drifted north with the tide. We saw huge schools of bait fish and butter bream with a few large bream hanging around the schools, they didn't take a liking to the lures though. A couple more pike were boated through this area as well as Liam landing the biggest puffer fish I've ever seen. This thing looked a like a soccer ball with spikes.

After, we headed over to one of Liam's never fails and sure enough after a few lure changes we were rewarded with a few more lizards going 48-52. I then decided to throw on an Atomic prong in white. Second cast and I got a solid thump, I leaned back on the rod to set the hook but the line went slack, so I let the plastic rest on the bottom for a few seconds and gave it one small hop and BANG. Line started screaming from the reel :woohoo: (this is a sound that has seemed to have alluded me while flatty fiahing for a while) after and intense 10 minute fight and the feeling of the leader rubbing on the fishes mouth the net slid under my prize. A lovely, well conditioned 71cm flatty.

I have a couple of clips from today but at present I'm editing them but will put them up as soon as they're ready. Unfortunately my go pro battery died just before landing the big girl, but I got most of the fight, and a couple of stills as well.

Great day out.

Cheers.

Here are the clips from Sunday (Caution, may contain some language.) Had to do them in 3 parts otherwise it takes to long to upload.

Enjoy.
