Hi Guys,

I'm interested in buyin a Kayak specifically for fishing. I've looked around and around and around but would really like to try out a few different ones before I buy but I don't have any mates that have one. I'm expecting to spend around $600-800 for an un-fitted unit then of course, many more $$$'s to get it the way I want it. I'm after one that I can use in small areas such as Oxley/Tingalpa creeks and upper brisbane river, but also have the capability to venture offshore to small reefs within 3-5km's of the coastline and get through the breakers if required.

Any good Yak stores near decent fishing spots where you can try them out?

Alternatively - anybody want to lend me theirs so I can try them out? I would be probably happy to pay around the $50 mark to try it for a day. I'd have no concerns with somebody asking me for a $500 cash deposit/photo of drivers license/vehicle or similar for the privilege and would return it in the same condition I picked it up in.

Acacia canoe hire has dagger brand rental kayaks and he is also a dealer.

Sunstate Hobie can be booked for a test on the river.

Rosco canoes also has a rental fleet and sales also
