Went to NPD with Hai this morning after one decky pulled out because he reckoned 4 or 5 hours without a smoke would kill him and the other got the flu. ( In retrospect they made the correct decision the way the weather turned out)

Had trouble with the spot lock on the i pilot dropping out in the wind so we had to anchor up.

The fish were there but pretty slow with a lot of then just around 35cm.

It was too cold and windy to stay at the tip of the island so we moved into the lee where it was a lot calmer. Picked up a few more small ones but Hai still couldnt stop shivering.

It was here that I realized that the bow mount was down on power so spent the rest of the day just using the stern motor.

Made the decision that we had had enough and starte4d to head back to the ramp.

When we got near to the second marker bouy the wind had dropped out so we decided to have a bit of a go there.

Only got 4 bass there but they were all over 48cm.

The gulls were swooping on the regurgitated boneys so we threw out some stale bread and soon had around 12 gulls,8 kites and a couple of pelicans all trying for a feed.

Really good watching the kites up close

Worst days fishing there for ages only 24 bass.

Checked the bow moint battery when I got home and it is only 10 volts . May not have charget it correctly after last trip so put it on charge overnight and test it on the load tester tomorrow.

Cheers

Ray

I see 4 inches of rain forecast, middle of schooling season, bugger, could ruin the fishing before I can get my boat out there! Been putting a new floor in it for the last fortnight getting ready for my week long holiday - , which starts today :(
