Hey guys

Just wondering if someone in the coffs region would be kind enough to give a bit of help in what is biting at present and a rough idea on where to go.

We are coming down to the Coffs this weekend with a 6.4mtr Stabicraft and really would love bringing a good size fish on deck.

All help is appreciated and would be happy to forward some local qld info in exchange.

Well we had awesome weather over weekend down in Coffs.

We set out fri arvo to the lighthouse chasing kings, as 3 of the 4 onboard havent caught one before.

Didnt take long at all trolling produced two smaller kings almost straight away both in the low 60's size.

I decided to drop a jig an then bang i was on, had a good fight and had fish beside the boat before a poorly tied knot saw him escape was devastated as estimated to be high 70's to low 80's in size.

Approx 15-20 small rat kings where caught in that 4hour session.

Everything form bait, jigs and plastics did the damage. Plastics where hot for a solid hour producing a fish every second cast.

Sat morning we headed out wider looking for some snaps, headed out to the mark to find a local charter boat drifting the line which we wanted we persisted in the area for an hour or so before deciding to head north.

We stopped at a few other marks but not much was happening. In the horizon at lighthouse we saw a number of boats and figured kings where so much fun the day before why not head back over.

We played around with the small rat kings for a few more hours before returning.

Overall was a good weekend although a few keepers would have been good but considering we didn't have any real knowledge or info on where to go we did well and all came home smiling.

Coffs is somewhere im going to hit up again i really do like the place and what it has to offer for fishing.
