Hi guys,

We decided.to head.out.info the river for a quick session last night beford the rain hit hard, whilst drifting along the docks we ran into a port worker in high vis with two stealthy looking handlines fishing from the base of a crane, as we approached he was out of there quick sharp and needless to say port security was straighy over to inform us of the 30m rule which I am aware of.

Then whilsy casting the area I hooked up to a line, ptobably 60 odd pound mono hanging.from the wharf,

Seems there is some sticky business between port security and a couple of port workers

Anyone know if theres any job going at the port, I wouldnt.mind a free pass to fish the docks under port securitys protection either??

Before terrorism raised its ugly head we used to fish and crab in the reclamation area where all the new wharfs are. We had some wicked sessions in there but only those working I there get ago now , some of the muddies we got i there where chocolate coloured with barnicles on them and some great fish .... Matt

Yeah I was out fishing near the corner of the reclaimed land rockwall a bit over a month ago before first light and noticed a work ute slowly rock up with it's lights off. As light started to slowly appear I noticed a few guys standing on the rockwall with rod silhouettes fishing into the reclaimed lake. Would love to know what/how big they catch. Good on 'em, wish I could!!

Quite a few guys fishing the lake last Saturday. I was quite close to them and they were regularly hooking up, mostly bream. One guy looked to be using a decent sized bream as bait. He was onto something pretty big but lost it, so I gave him a yell and asked what he was after - he was chasing Cod

Not sure if this is true but I had a chat with a friendly port security fellow one night and he said that they have a little Port workers fishing club and fish the pond inside the reclaimed land every couple months as a bit of an informal competition

He also said there were no pipes in or out just the water that flows through the rock wall so fish end up growing up in there and getting stuck...

All of this is to taken with a grain of salt because I don't personally know the guy.
