Hey guys,

Shimano Stradic CI4+ Spinning Reel

I was looking at the new Shimano Stradic CI4+ Spinning Reel online and it caught my eye.

I was wondering if anyone has one or knows of someone with one and if they like it or not??

Just need some advice on it.

Also if anyone has a suggestions on a nice 1000 size spinning reel I am all eyes.

And any suggestions on rods for these reels

Thanks

If you buy in Aus you get 10year warranty

If you buy online you get none

Thats why I wont buy reels or sounders from overseas.

For sounders I'm of the same opinion (2 out of 3 of mine have required warranty claims).

For reels I buy locally as a habit, but thinking about it, neither myself or any of the people I regularly fish with have ever had to make a warranty claim on a reel. Maybe it's just a piece of mind thing that I persist with Australian bought.

From the ICast reports I've read the various Ci4+ models are supposed to have a staggered release across the globe. The spinning reels and right hand baitcast models will be released first. The left hand baitcast models are reportedly not being distributed until November.

(EDIT: Apparently all being released in late July now.)

Just emailed the American store and they said they provide warranties for all their shimano gear. Which is a bonus

Yes they do, 1 year versus 10 years in Australia. Don't forget for any warranty claim overseas you'll have to factor in shipping costs as well which will be coming out of your pocket not theirs or your local tackle store's. I'd wait and see how much they are when they hit the shelves here, if you are buying from a store such as tackle warehouse over there I haven't noticed a huge difference in the price of their spin models compared to ours.

Thats a good idea might wait. But if i was to buy the stradic C14 here the old one that is, it would be $100 saving if i was to buy over there
