queensland Big Pine River flatties

Decided to spend the Ekka holiday flattie fishing and the session was great. Dad caught the first flattie and he was just a baby so back he went.

Kept fishing the drop offs and Dad's on again! :woohoo: This time his drag was screaming, and after a nice fight a big flattie surfaced. He didn't really fit in the net so we had to go to the bank and measure her. She was measured in at 63cm and was caught from knee deep water!

Then I got a 50cm flathead!

Kept a couple of the medium sized fish for dinner that had swallowed the lures. It was a great session and the water was glassy the whole time! All fish were caught on squidgies with a 1/8 ounce jig head. Can't wait to get out there again!

Great read James. Shame myself and Wayne (Luvit) couldn't match your session this arvo with only a couple of little ones. Great pics too

Nice flatties bud. The pine can produce quality fish some sessions, then none the next. It's all about persistence.
