Hey guys.

I am looking at getting into kayaking, a mate has one and I am keen to join him and to get into the sport but just dont know what to get, so many choices.

I will mainly be doing creek, dam and fishing in the pine. I am 6ft 4' with extra long legs but only weigh 70kg.

My price range is up to $800

Cheers.

Tomca managed at the MBC.

I have loved mine so far. Condsidering it comes with 4 tube and one swivel rod holder, awesome seat, paddle, hatches etc I reckon it is the cheapest and best off the shelf kayak purchase. There are a few other little bits of custom hardware as well like tackle trays, anchors etc. Really good guys to deal with as well I AFO is looking forward to furthering that relationship in the future.

Will the assassin handle a bloke that stands 6'4" though? Don't freak have a larger model? Might be more suited.

I don't tend to think $800 is enough to buy a kayak that will handle someone that height new (with the exception of maybe the Malibu Pro Explorer) second hand might be a better option.

Hi guys,

The safe weight capacity varies on our kayaks, it's generally 125-145kg, as for 6'4, I suggest you come by and have a look at it, we can even organise a test for you.

Also we will be introducing 2 more models for this summer, so if you are willing to wait until early October, you won't be disappointed :).

I'm away until Tuesday, so feel free to flick me a message and I'll get you to drop in if you are interested.

Cheers,

daki

pro explorer is a slow boat, or maybe i'm a horrible paddler! (i don't care, it's fishing, not a race) i've only used mine a couple of times since i picked it up, and only once for fishing but i managed to stand up in it on the river without a problem.

i'm 6'1" and 77kg, it's heavy, but i can load it on top of the triton without too much hassle
