Went up to pick up my new Hobie adventure from Mal at sunstate hobie on monday morning :) After getting the yak sorted and a couple of scottys installed, Paul (nodds) and myself headed off to noosa to try out the new yak :woohoo::woohoo: . got to the caravan park set up and was on the water around 1PM. '

one happy new hobie owner

and only 200m or so after starting a troll towards the mouth the yak produces its first fish :woohoo: a flatty around 38cm on an sx48

got up towards the mouth and nodds got onto a little queenie that went ballistic jumping and performing acrobatics all over the shop

through the mouth we go heading towards the rocky headlands. the yak performed brilliantly, very quick and very stable. the only problem I could find is the fact that I will need 6\" extentions on the scotty holders, but no biggy

got just passed main beach and started trolling about 50-100M out from the rocks, I had a rapalla Shad rap 120mm on one rod and a ecogear ck50 on the other. next fish was an over a feisty little squire that took a liking to the ck50.

back he goes, a few hundred meters later and the rod I was holding with the rapala on it got smashed, the fish took a couple of good runs. I had no idea what it was at this stage, but a little while later got sight of a brute of a flatty :woohoo:   . took a couple of attempts to get the grippers into him. Yep the fishing mojo had stayed with me lol

headed towards hells gates and didnt get a touch until we were almost there, another squire hit the ck50 a bit bigger this time though at around 33cm

back he went and we continued around to the gates, got there and we both tossed around some plastics and full ganged pillies but didnt get a touch. :( :( anyway starting to get dark we headed turned for home for the 7km trip back. coming back in through the bar there were a few waves well and truly breaking, but with the speed of the adventure I managed to stay on the front of a little runner the whole way through the bar ;) :woohoo:

all up we traveled a bit over 15ks which isn't bad for an afternoon peddle.

What a great way to blood a new yak I was absolutely stoked with the day

all the fish were released.
