SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND

for DAMAGING WIND, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES

For people in the IPSWICH CITY and parts of the BRISBANE CITY, GOLD COAST CITY, LOCKYER VALLEY, LOGAN CITY, MORETON BAY, SCENIC RIM and SOMERSET Council Areas.

Issued at 2:24 pm Monday, 6 January 2014.

\The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:20 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Aratula and Moogerah Dam. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to northeast. Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect Boonah by 2:50 pm and Beaudesert by 3:20 pm.

Other severe thunderstorms were located near Laidley, the area west of Esk and Border Ranges National Park. They are forecast to affect Esk by 2:50 pm and Ipswich by 3:20 pm.
