Hi

Looking to purchase two 12v batteries for minn kota 70. Seems like AGM deep cycle batteries are the way to go however not sure of the amp hours needed to get at least 4-6 hours on the water in my Freedom Sport 5m. Any suggestions on brand and dealer will also much appreciated. Also need to get a good charger which can charge both batteries at same time. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

G'day,

I run two 120amp Full River AGMs for my 80lb minnkota and days worth of fishing out of these batteries. However my boat isn't too heavy, just make sure that you get heavy gauge wire to run to your leccy so that you don't lose any amps.

And buy a Ctek 24amp charger.

Cheers

Muzz

I'd go a minimum of 100's if your using it on a petrol boat and I would get standard deep cycle batteries, the AGM's are not worth paying nearly double the price as a standard deep cycle.

I ran 160's for my 60 (the smallest 24 volt they make) on my electric boat and it easily did me for full days fishing on the dams. (As in 4 or 5 hours running flat out)
