I was there for New Years fireworks parked under the walking bridge all night, I threw in some phillies on a hook. I wasn't expecting anything other than cat fish and that's all I got lol they were pretty big tho.. There gotta be something good lurking under the piers and pontoons and around the bridge pilons?

The west end stretch of the river holds some good jew and threadin at the right times of year. Not sure if they would let you fish landbased in southbank but you are allowed in there by boat as long as you stay clear of the ferries.

Around this time of year you might get some small threadfin and bullsharks on live baits and plenty of bream around the rock walls.

I reackon it would go off in the cooler months when the jewz and threads are more active just because its so well lit up..

I've been kicked out of the parklands from fishing before. Security guards watching the cameras said I couldn't fish in there, apparently not public ground so they can ask people to leave.
