Mono prep before spooling

G'day AFO mates!!

Just a quick question, I'm just re-spooling my spin gear and backing the braid up with mono. Does anyone reckon soaking the mono in warm water before spooling is a good idea or should i just rip open the packet and whack it on??

Best way is to put spare spool on, wind on braid, tie mono onto braid, wind on mono until the spool is full.

Put good spool back on, toss spare spool on floor, wind onto reel, mono goes on first, and right amount. Should keep tension on any line winding on (mono or braid). Can wet fingers from time to tome, or lay wet cloth over line if you want it wet, but I would not be putting spare spool into water, drag might not like it.
