EMD Beauties

After not fishing all week because of infected finger, I couldnt wait any longer so headed up to EMD to use some lures and keep my hand out of the bait bucket a bit longer. Twas a good day on the water with little wind and a little bit of rain just before we left to come home. Trolled all over the dam picking up a few here and there and finaly finding a scattered school to finish up with.

Managed over 20 bass with a few spangles as well. Could not find any yellas but Luke managed to find one just before he called it a day. Bass were very small to small with a few medium sized as well, no whoppers today. Cutting edge lures tomohawk lure worked well along with the reliable flikashads.

Best morning for weather at Ewen Maddock....EVER! Pity the big stuff stayed asleep. I caught heaps of small Bass, but none of real size. I was saved right at the end, maybe even the last cast, by a Yellowbelly who obviously wanted me to have a great day :) And yes, I think Yellowbelly are a great bonus catch. I caught almost everything on a purple Poltergiest, whatever lure my second rod had on, no matter how many times I changed it, it didn't catch a thing haha.

Except you don't have a head... You weren't needing that though, right?...

I wonder how all those other yaks faired? It was interesting to see everyone's method of attack. Some spent their time flicking to the snags, some trolled the whole dam multiple times over, and one guy I saw spent a really long time buried deep in the same patch of sedge weed. Very persistent!

It's a lovely dam, I'd be there more often if old mate Willy could get the wind right ;)

When the wind sods off, I'm going to sit in that snag up near the rope buoy with a bucket of shrimp and see how many Yella's I can haul in.

Been curious to try bait on there for while.

If I can get a few tagged I might talk to Dave about a prize for the first tagged fish recaptured during the comp.
