Brisbane river mouth wrecks

As I did yesterday, and have done many times on my way home, I decided once again on my way home to the ramp at Nudgee, to see if I could find a show on either of the two wrecks at the mouth of the Brisbane river, the Kate and the Mt Elliot. The Mt Elliot should be easiest to find, located just off a buoy, but with both GPS, map and waypoints, I've never been able to find anything on my sounder that even resembles a show. Based on research these two wrecks have been there along time, so I expect not much to be left, but at least something. Do they still exist? And do they ever hold fish? Or were they, like the famous winter whiting grounds of compass, which are in the same area, buried in the floods many years ago?
